Dr. Kenawy has received a grant from the Hamm Institute for American Energy to develop a framework for assessing the vulnerability of electric transmission towers across Oklahoma to flooding and debris flow hazards.

Dr. Kenawy presented her research on adaptive sequential experimental design of regional-scale earthquake simulations at the 2025 International Conference on Structural Safety and Reliability.

Dr. Kenawy presented her research on using simulated earthquake ground motions to improve regional-scale seismic hazard and risk analysis.

MSc Student Aman Karki presented his research on quantifying the influence of modeling uncertainty on assessing the collapse capacity of civil structures under dynamic earthquake loading.

Dr. Kenawy's publication on performance assessment of near-fault structures subjected to fling step was featured in the Earthquake Spectra Special Collection on Advancements in Physics-Based Simulations.

Dr. Kenawy presented her research on quantifying modeling uncertainty on simulating structural collapse, and using physics-based earthquake ground motions in seismic design applications at the 18th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering.

Dr. Kenawy's publication was featured in the Earthquake Spectra Special Collection on Advancements in Physics-Based Simulations

Dr. Kenawy presented her recent work on using earthquake fault-rupture simulations to assess seismic hazard and risk to structures across the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Kenawy joined Oklahoma State University as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Kenawy received the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute Younger Member Award.
